Rex Lee Run

Me oh my! I can't believe that it has been a whole month since I have blogged. Time flies when you are having fun...or when you are just incredibly busy which is more of how things have been for me. I feel like my Biochem class is taking over my life and while the information I learn is pretty interesting, I was not meant to be a chemist and I am so excited when my very last chemistry class ever will be over! (Sorry Doc!)
Really my life has been consumed by school the last month. Its been one test after another, so I have been constantly on my toes trying to study and keep up. So far so good, and the semester is about 2/3 over. I can't believe how fast my time here at BYU passes. I will be gone before I know it and what was once my life ambition (graduating) will soon be just a memory. Who would have thunk?
The most exciting part of my blog for the day is that I ran the Rex Lee Run yesterday. For those of you from places in the country other than Provo, it is a huge fund raiser that the BYU Biochem department puts on to raise money for cancer research (named after a president of BYU who died of cancer in the 90's). There is a 10K and a 5K race. Last year I ran the 5 so this year my goal was to run the 10. I must admit, I seriously doubted my ability to accomplish the task, but with some support from my darling sister Marlene, we ran the whole stinkin' 6.2 miles. It was awesome. They haven't posted official times online yet, but we were right about 64 minutes. It was a sweet feeling to run past that finish line (after the feelings of passing out and vomiting passed that is!). And so I ran my first ever 10K and I am looking forward to the next. Good times. I don't have any pictures from the morning yet, but I found out that I have a friend who took a picture of me running as I crossed the finish line. I will consider posting that when I get a copy...as long as it isn't too hideous- I somehow doubt I looked too fancy crossing the finish line. Hope all is well for all of you!!
