Home Sweet Home

Decoration on one of the houses down the street. So true!

This is my street! the sign that's closest to the beach.

The hill dividing residential area from the beach. Just beyond this is happiness!
My fantastic little home. Complete with shed (to the left, driveway, porch, and neighbors!)
Pretty flowers down the street
same flowers with porch in view

Last Hoorah

For my last Saturday in Topeka, I played and played!  I spent the day with my friend Kate. We started the day by going and seeing Ramona and Beezus.  So cute. So loved it! Then we went swimming at the pool at Kate's complex. It was awesome to be in the water and chat and be cool (Kansas has been SOO hot and humid this summer. It was miserable).  After a couple hours in the pool, we went to get dinner at a take out Chinese place.  It was delicious. While we were eating dinner we started talking about the movie. I said that I would definitely see it again. It was so cute.  As we talked we both confessed that we cried (pitiful, I know) and then I said I would definitely see it again...I even liked it so much, I would see it again tonight.  Hmm...pause.  That would be really funny.  Who goes and sees the same movie twice in a day?...hmm...Kate said she would do it with me. Seriously? I ask. Yes. The next showing...like 9 o'clock. We have 3 hours. Soooo....we went to Target and other such shopping, bought swimsuits and clothes, and then went to Ramona and Beezus. Again. It was still good the second time.  Here is our documentation following the fun times.

Long time a comin

Finally, pictures from my time in Topeka!

Love/Hate

Nicki HATES, maybe even DETESTS: moving, dramatic life changes, traffic, too many people in small spaces, humidity, heat+humidity together, her program, stupid quizzes and paperwork

But she sure does LOVE: the sound of the ocean, "the gang" from her old home-Tabor Arms, not smelling like smoke all the time, the beach, children, pediatrics, being out of class, being treated like a real person again (cause I didn't really feel like one after the last two years of school), snow, air conditioners, the beach, the sound of the ocean, watching waves, playing with toys, the ball pit at my clinical site, pizza, friends

So life is good- even when I do get a hot pepper or lemon thrown in there unexpectedly.
