I live at the base of "Y-mountain" and as such, I have fairly often taken the opportunity to hike up to the "Y". It's a pretty short hike- I can do it in about 30 minutes now, so its great for a quick workout. Hard enough to get me sweating, but easy enough that I really enjoy it even on lazy days. Yesterday morning I rolled out of bed and thought that I really should go running, but I wasn't really in the mood. I had toyed with the idea of going on a hike, but never decided where, so I thought it was a perfect morning to hike up to the Y. I recently got the idea in my head that I actually wanted to hike to the top of the mountain sometime before I leave, but I've hesitated because I didn't really have anyone to hike with. Yesterday when I got to the Y I just didn't feel like I had had my fill of hiking, so I decided that it would be a great day to hike to the top of the mountain. It took me about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the top of the mountain and it was a beautiful hike! It was a pretty low key hike until the end when it got really steep going up through this huge meadow on the back of the mountain (most of the hike up is on the back side of the mountain). Anyway, the view from the top is absolutely beautiful and I was really glad that I decided to go up. It's a good one to check off my list of things to do before I leave Utah. While I did have my cell phone camera, I don't know how to get those pictures off my cell phone and onto my computer (any advice?) so I don't have pictures of my actual hike but I did include a picture of the mountain for those of you who haven't a clue what mountain I refer to. It was a great hike and I'd recommend it!
