Ward Cookbook

I was recently asked to put together a cookbook for my ward/congregation which I am now doing. If you like to cook and are looking for new recipes you can see the project in progress (aka access recipes in the digital format) on the blog at http://colonial2recipes.blogspot.com/.  I added it to my list of blogs and frequented sites as well for easy access in the future.
Happy cooking.

Being "Creative"

The ocean does something to me that I have never experienced anywhere else.  It makes me so calm.  It's the quickest escape I've ever found.  4 minute walk and the sound and sight of the ocean just lure me in. I love it. It's going to be sooo hard to leave here at the end of October. Walking on the beach reminds me of God. It reminds me how much He loves us to create something so beautiful and peaceful. The power and consistency of the ocean also remind me of the power and consistency of God. I love it.  I watched the sunrise last weekend with some friends that were here.  We didn't see much of the sunrise because there was a storm out on the horizon, but it made for some cool pictures of the light. So I put these together. As I watched these scriptures kept coming to mind.

A Visit with Friends!

A few weeks ago, I had visitors!  It was amazing. I have found that I love living alone, I love having my own place, my space, my comfort (I know, it's all about me. I don't have to share!). However, it's not been easy to be living along AND moving every few months. I don't know anyone. Most of the time it's no big deal, but it does get a bit lonely. Sometimes I find myself having full fledged conversations with myself. Weird. Every so often, I'm even afraid I'll forget how to have normal conversations with people (aka outside of the "PT" world). So it was lovely to have company. Especially Lance and Jen and Alivia.  Jen and I were roommates for a year back at BYU and we have been lucky enough to stay close and be close these last years.  Lance is in a grad program at Virginia Commonwealth, so we have been able to visit multiple times.

Soo...Lance and Jen drove down on a Wednesday. On Thursday, I had to go in to my clinical.  It was so hard to leave for work. It was really interesting cause I have never been leaving someone at home and man, it was hard to go to work knowing there were people I wanted to be with at home. That made it oh so enjoyable to come home.  I loved being welcomed home.  It was great.  That night Lance and Jen took us all out to Hard Rock Cafe.  It was a delicious and fun dinner. It was cool to see all the photos, guitars, costumes etc. that decorated the restaurant.

Friday we went to the beach and played.  We built a sandcastle and swam in the ocean, boogie boarded and just enjoyed the sun.  Lance is a good teacher of boogie boarding because since that lesson I have been able to get the hang of it and ride the waves.  Love it, it's so much fun.  Lance even helped Alivia boogie board. It was awesome!

The rest of the trip was hanging out, talking, walking on the beach, and just having fun.  It was so fun. Alivia is a beach girl through and through. She was so cute.  Not afraid of the ocean at all (probably almost to a fault).  She would run into the ocean and just stand there and let the waves roll over.  She'd also put her cheek down in the sand and feel the sand and water on her face. So adorable.  Here are the pictures.  Real evidence they were here.  Thanks so much Jen, Lance and Alivia for coming.  It was so fun to have you.  I love you!
