Good Reads

So this is one of my new favorite things on the internet...goodreads.com. You can sign up for an account for free and it the site allows you to search for books, review books, and have "friends" so you can see there books. It gives you three "shelves" or lists: "to read", "currently reading" and "read". (By the way, does anyone else think it is strange that read and read are spelled the exact same way but you say them both differently and they are two different tenses. I learned that little fact in second grade and I have always thought that it was strange.) Why is this my favorite site you ask? I love to read. Once, in high school, when I was writing about myself, I wrote that "I get lost in the world of literature." I have recently been awakened to that fact. I absolutely love to read. When I finish a book I am always looking for something new to read and in conversations with other people I always think, "Oh, I should read that book next" and then when the time comes to start a new book, I can never remember what to read. Problem solved. I now have a list of the books that I can read and I am always finding new ones to read by browsing through my "friends" lists. I think this is the best thing since sliced bread! I would highly recommend it.

Pictures

I have tons of pictures from the last month, so I thought that I would include a few of them on my blog. Not the most exciting post, I know, but still its something.

My sister Trista flew out for my graduation as a surprise. I know she will hate me for posting this picture :) but it was such a delight to have her out here!

This is the BYU victory bell- they ring it when we win football games and things like that. I felt like a degree was victory enough to want to ring it- only I couldn't actually ring it, it was locked, so I just pretended instead.

This is me, and my friends Esther, Emma, and Emily. Esther, Emma, and I all graduated this April. They are both leaving for the summer...or for good, who knows? and so we spent their last night here together having fun, being sad, and eating some very yummy icecream.

These are my good friends Burkley and Shannon. They, with one other friend named James, were my Biochem study group this semester. They saved me!! I don't think I would have made it to graduation without them and believe it or not, those hours of biochem were actually kind of fun.

Emily, Laura and me. Where would I be without these girls? They are the best!

I had a friend of mine take some "graduation pictures" so that I could send one out in my announcement and hopefully then my many nieces and nephews could see who I was. I forgot that I never posted these pictures and maybe I will sometime, but this was one of my favorites.

Graduation

So, believe it or not (I must admit, I am still kind of in the not stage) I actually graduated from BYU with a bachelor of science in Physiology and Developmental Biology with a minor in Family Life. Shocking? I think so. The degree makes me sound pretty smart too! I am so excited and relieved to be done which is funny because in just a few months I will start yet another and more rigorous program, but for now- no homework! I love it! Graduation was great for me. Boring as all the speeches get, the thrill of walking in, being in a cap and gown and realizing that I have accomplished another life long goal was very satisfying. Thanks to all of you! I am sure that everyone who is reading this has blessed my life and helped me along my road to be where I am so thank you for your life and influence!!
