I went to Utah for a quick trip this weekend. Turns out that my older brother has kangaroos at his farm. Yes, you read that last sentence correctly. Would you like me to repeat? Ok. My brother has kangaroos on his farm. And where does he live you ask? In Utah Valley, near the lake. Really? Yes. Really. He lives in Utah, little ol' Utah county, and yes. Indeed. He does have kangaroos. My sweet nephew, niece, and sister-in-law and I went out to visit and feed them and photograph them Monday morning. They weren't so happy with our food offering so they weren't being overly friendly, but here's what I got.
And you thought I was lying. Nope, here they really are. There are 4 kangaroos currently. 1 male, 3 female. I don't know all their names, but the friendliest two are Elijah and Sarah. I can't remember which one this is. Oh you think I could have just copied this from the internet and it could be in Australia? Well, I don't have a passport. Keep looking...
These are kangaroo houses. What's that you say? They look like the back part of a cement truck? Oh, well, that's because they were once. But now they have a door cut out and they keep the kangaroos warm when they are cold.
This is my adorable nephew Gabriel with me. When I left Utah, he wasn't so fond of Aunt Nicki because Aunt Nicki=babysitter. Fortunately for me, he's forgotten that part of his life, so we managed to be friends. He thought I was quite a silly girl by the end of the morning.
Checking out the food we brought- which it turns out they wouldn't eat a bite of. Apparently, kangaroos are picky about which brand of rabbit pellets they get to eat.
Gabriel, Marlene, and Estella. So cute. They make me happy!
And last, but not least. The videos. The first is just the kangaroos hopping around. I think it's so cool to watch them move. (I just laughed at myself for writing that because maybe I like to watch them move because that is my job. I watch how people move. They tell me at school that I am a movement specialist!)
This one is actually interacting with the kangaroos. I really like it. They are so cute and fun! I honestly think that their fur is the softest fur I've ever felt in my whole entire life. It made me happy to touch it!!

Does he make money letting people see him? We'll be in Utah in July and I totally want to go see them!
It's official. I win. You read my thought exactly. Is there really anything else to be said? Thought not.
