Happy Birthday...to me :)

A few homes ago, one of my roommates told us about a family tradition that they had.  Their family would draw pictures for the individual who had a birthday to wish them a very happy day.  Apparently, this roommate's dad would always make a picture saying how many times this person had been around the sun.  It was the tradition.  As roommates, we decided to adopt the tradition. We were slightly ridiculous and had SO MUCH fun doing it.  Now, I can't have a birthday without thinking about how many times I've been around the sun.  I made this picture for myself, so I could share it with them on facebook! :)  Happy birthday to me!

I also decided to write a list of 27 things that I want to do while I'm 27.  I have a number of friends who do this every year and I'm hoping it will help motivate me to do those things that I am constantly saying "Yes, I should really do that." So here it goes!
1.   Read at least 27 books.
2.  Visit Mt. Vernon
3.   Drive the Skyline in the fall
4.  See the Newsuem
5.    Eat Navajo Tacos at the American Indian Museum
6.  Go to the Baltimore Aquarium
7.      Attend a baseball game; outrageously priced hot dog included
8.   Start learning Spanish
9.  Go to two Smithsonian’s that I’ve never been to
10.                Get my reading card at the Library of Congress
11. See the inside of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (I drive by it and see the outside everyday on my way to work!)
12.Tour the Masonic Temple
13.                      See the Cherry Blossoms at the tidal basin (I’ve done it before, but I missed it last year)
14. Take a day trip to Williamsburg
15.    Go to a symphony
16.           Eat crabs in Baltimore
17. Explore NYC (some more!)
18. Visit Boston
19.    Take a class in the community (cooking, sewing, health, etc.)
20.               Go ice skating at the National Gallery of Art
21.                       Bike the Mt. Vernon Trail (but maybe not the whole thing)
22.    Buy rollerblades (and use them)
23.   Go into DC for the fourth of July (if I’m in the area)…and if not at least go the National Archives again.
24.  Go see/visit a city I’ve never been to before
25.               Experience Annapolis
26. Do the walking tour in Old Town
27.             Go to Hershey Park

Sounds like quite the list. DC on the 4th is lots of fun! I should do something similar. Hope you have a great year!
Happy Birthday!

Elise (because I am too lazy to sign Lowell out of blogger)
